exposures, using the SR-3 target (40 minutes/team). MATCH 2: 600-yd prone, 5 minute sighter period for both shooters, 15 record shots per shooter, 15 sec. MATCH 1: 300-yd prone, 5 minute sighter period for both shooters, 15 record shots per shooter, 10 sec. Quantico Vintage Sniper Match (WWII thru Vietnam war era sniper rifles) Suggestions would be appreciated as I'm not familiar with all the M14/M1A scope mounting options, other than most of them now have contemporary picatinney rails and don't exactly have the "vintage" look that I am seeking. Here's my question: What, if any, M14 scope mount for a 1" tube would look sort-of vintage/original, but utilizing at least a 2-point mounting system that could be removed and return to zero - as opposed to the old/original XM21 scope brackets that provided only a single mounting point?. I might still try to find one of those scopes with the carrying case, but in the meantime I'm buying a 2nd generation Redfield 3-9x40 scope (Accu-Range version), not the ART version. First choice would be a nice Art II scope (proper version for the M14), which although is a slightly post-Vietnam War item, can still be used in this vintage sniper match according to the rules that I have listed below. In essence, I was thinking about scoping my iron sighted M1A to compete in the Quantico event in September. The purpose of this post is to get suggestions re a "proper looking" vintage M14 scope mount for it.with 2 mounting points.

The middle M1A is the one that I might mount the 3-9 Redfield on, as I'd like to try it out at the 800 yard match if possible. Here are my two M1As, and the M40 replica. (I have never taken this NM rifle out of its glass-bedded stock, and only shot it twice since I inherited it, so I'm not sure that it has a medium weight barrel or not). My iron sighted M1A is a NM circa 1989, and other than what I think is a medium weight barrel, might be legal for the match. So, according to the rules, I can't use my M21 Tactical Match rifle in these matches as its not a replica XM/M21 given its lugged receiver, heavy Kreiger barrel, 20x scope, etc. The gas cylinder and front band may be unitized.Stock: Standard Mil spec wood stock and glass bedded action.Original or reproduction scopes and mounts. Optic: M84, Redfield 3-9x 40mm power with or without ART, Leatherwood 3-9x ARTII, and M-1000 2.5-10x 44mm.Stock: wood sporter type with integral cheek rest and glass bedded action.Barrel Length: 24” Remington Varmint weight and contour. No target knobs, picitinny scope mount or scopes with tubes larger than 1”. Optic: Redfield 3-9x 40mm w/ Redfield jr mount.Action: Remington 700 or 40x short action. Here is what the Quantico Shooting Range club range posted re what would be a suitable vintage sniper rifle for this match re M40 and M21 clones. In addition, the Quantico Shooting Club has two vintage sniper matches per year on the Marine base, and they allow not only WWII and Korean War era vintage sniper rifles, but also Vietnam era sniper rifles.hence this post/question on the M14 forum page. (I use a WWII era sniper rifle that event). I like to participate in the CMP vintage sniper rifles matches during the CMP Eastern Games. Some background first before I get to my question: I have two M1As, one circa 2008 M21 Tactical Match with a modern scope and a Sadlack scope mount, and one circa 1989 M1A NM with only iron sights.
